Societies crumpled, and nations fell under the onslaught of the N4 virus. Military forces were hard-pressed to handle the situation, and few were prepared to handle it. On one instance, a group of soldiers from different military branches fought off a large group of N4 infected, all because their unique skills enabled them to handle any challenge.
The soldiers were abandoned, even after their long fight ended in victory. This was when the soldiers decided to travel through communities, and pick up others abandoned by the military, which was dedicating its strength on other things. The soldiers picked up survivors on the way, and provided them with protection and food. The troops became more organized after time, and sent out radio broadcasts, calling all who were thought to have fallen or abandoned to their safe areas. The soldiers tried clearing areas of infected, and protected the survivors they found.
The soldiers formed an unbreakable bond, and were now expert at eliminating the infected. They soon began clearing more dangerous areas, and they were forced to sustain some casualties. A Fallen soldier would never die without taking hundreds of monsters with him. A Fallen Soldier never died without being avenged, either.
