1. Confirmed Elements

So far, little has been completely confirmed by Neil. However, the following elements have been officially confirmed, by Neil, on the forums.

Note: Neil has been active in the Shout box, and his comments there are not here due to the difficulty of finding them. If you have an official post by Neil Yates (AdminPwn), please add it here.

- There will be PvP
- There will be currency (though devalued to reflect the apocalypse)
- There will be exp and levels
- Will gain exp and levels by killing zombies and doing missions
- On level up you will spend stat points
- You character will be customizable.
- There will be random zombie encounters between areas.
- There will be exp and cash penalties for dying
- There will be events such as zombies attacking an outpost

In the same post, AdminPwn said the following:

"So the game will be partly browser based. You will move on the map, go to outposts , chat with friends etc in the browser. You will only go into a game when something happens such as zombies attacking, or if you go on a particular mission etc. Think Guild Wars instance system, with the city part played in the browser."

On the nest page of the thread, he spoke about death and avatars:

"About dying. I currently have the penalty quite high, and I'm guessing a lot of people won't like it. On death you will go back to the starting outpost and will lose all cash you have your character (you can store loot in safe places so it isn't lost on death though). Also you will have to wait 2-5 minutes before you can re-spawn."

"As for customisation. There will be some but it's not going to be especially complex, with maybe only a selection of gender, face and clothing colour. The main reason is my lack of funds to get a dedicated artist in so I'm having to bodge it myself. The characters will all look very 'soldier' ish which isn't really what I'd hoped for. My aim is to get a decent artist in once I've got a bit more spare cash, and then we can allow for something much more advanced."

Pwn briefly addressed PvP combat:

"PvP will be pretty much everywhere, though only during a combat sequence (not when you are at an outpost for example)."

Also mentioned, on the next page of the thread, were "professions." Since the previous posts by other users had been about classes and starting packages, professions seemed more like classes.

"Putting a limit (On the number of certain professions) isn't really fair since those who sign up first will get all the good stuff. The workable options are:

1. You have to buy a premium account to be one of the cooler professions.

2. Give the professions with the coolest abilities serious drawbacks. For example medics would have significantly lower physical stats.

I think option 2 is best."

Although shops were deconfirmed, Pwn made a statement that there will be a place where you can buy things for real money.

Right now I don't have any kind of premium account, but I do have an item shop where you pay real money. Like 5 or so items that people will want based on 'coolness' factor. And you can buy a stat reset incase you mucked up your stats first time around.

2. De-confirmed Elements

None.

3. Pictures and Screen shots

The following picture was posted by AdminPwn, showing a map screen.

Dead Frontier: The MMO - Dead Frontier

Clearly visible are numerous features:

- A shotgun in the left column, likely the Mossberg 500 from the demos. It has 26 rounds. Also in the right column is a pistol with 45 rounds. This suggests carrying two weapons, a main and sidearm.
- A knife is below the shotgun and pistol.
- The character also appears to have some sort of body armour, which appears as a jacket or sweater. It says 'normal' which makes no sense as of yet.
- The far right column also contains a first aid symbol, obviously representing health.
- Some sort of food, and a 'hunger' level.
- The character's avatar is displayed in the right column.
- Various menus, such as inventory/trading and the character's profile are in the right column.
- A large, overhead image of the city.
